Northwest Academy Announces Promotion of Stacy Luce to Clinical Director and Mark Hewitt to Dean of Students
We are pleased to announce that two of our long-time and valued employees are being promoted into leadership positions at Northwest Academy. Senior Therapist Stacy Luce, LCPC, NCC, will move into the position of Clinical Director and Team Manager Mark Hewitt will step into the newly created position of Dean of Students.
Stacy has been an integral member of the Northwest Academy team since 2012. Her leadership, collegiality amongst peers, and most importantly her work with students and families has been recognized throughout the years. She was promoted into a Senior Therapist role two years ago and since that time has been mentoring with Clinical Director Dan Tadlock. She is taking over for Dan who is leaving after nearly 10 years to assume ownership of Hawks Landing for Boys, a therapeutic home care program.
Stacy specializes in working with teenagers challenged with oppositional defiance, anger and aggression, substance abuse, and adoption issues and their parents. She uses a variety of different counseling methods including CBT, DBT, Person Centered, EMDR and Family Systems Theory. She is inspired in her work when she observes students reaching their goals and beginning to regain self-esteem through honest achievement. She holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. She completed her undergraduate study in Social Work from Michigan State University. She is trained in EMDR, has intensive adoption and kinship training and is working towards becoming a certified drug and alcohol counselor.
The Dean of Students is a new position at Northwest Academy. With our continued growth we want to ensure the quality and consistency of our academic, clinical and student life programming and Team Manager Mark Hewitt is the right person to take on this role. Mark has worked at Northwest Academy for eight years as a Team Manager, prior to that he was at our sister school for six years. He is integrity personified and is respected by colleagues and students alike. He is a certified AEGIS Crisis Intervention and Prevention Trainer and holds a degree in social science from Lewis-Clark State College.
Northwest Academy is proud of its outstanding team of individuals who are passionate about our work on behalf of our students and their families. Stacy and Mark exemplify our highest standards and are team players who consistently develop new strategies and exceed expectations. Please join us in congratulating Stacy and Mark.
