Our primary academic goal is for your child to attain a high school diploma and master secondary course material in preparation for post-secondary education or vocational training. This is made possible by a disciplined approach to study, low teacher to student ratio, careful scheduling, and attention to individual learning styles, and our therapeutic focus on the underlying behavioral issues that are getting in the way of academic achievement.
There is a reason we specialize in working only with “juniors and seniors”. Their next steps are to successfully manage college and life as a young adult. As freshman entering college, there are numerous pitfalls that can befall students, especially those with a track record of not making the best choices. At Northwest Academy we provide our students with insightful lessons and hands-on experiences that will help them effectively navigate college.
Our campus is a carefully designed therapeutic environment, where everyday events and interpersonal interactions create an appreciation for accomplishment, a better sense of self, and confidence in new-found talents and abilities. Students receive highly-effective, individualized therapy and take part in individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and substance abuse counseling. It all works together to produce and support positive change and the establishment of lasting, healthy attitudes.
Parents and students work together to instill values and learn new habits that result in stronger families and better relationships. Parents are involved in weekly family therapy, parent coaching, frequent workshops, and parent-child trips to beautiful Northwest locations. On-going communications between parents, students, and staff on Northwest Academy’s online family portal helps you stay in touch.
A healthy body directed by an active, clear-thinking mind is central to Northwest Academy’s philosophy. Class work, a nutritious diet, exercise, and sports are part of every student’s daily routine. It begins with delicious, wholesome food.
