At Northwest Academy, Personal Fitness is more than an academic credit; it is an important coping skill for lifelong management of stress, anxiety, and many other mental health issues. For this reason, all students participate in a Personal Fitness class each weekday. The instructor initiates both group and individual fitness goals by assisting students to strive for healthy lifestyle changes.
A healthy body directed by an active, clear-thinking mind is central to Northwest Academy’s philosophy. Class work, a nutritious diet, exercise, and sports are part of every student’s daily routine. It begins with delicious, wholesome food. Our executive chef prepares a diverse menu from fresh ingredients to fuel good health, physical conditioning, and mental acuity. Teens love to eat and Northwest Academy students have healthy alternatives available throughout the day.
Students may participate in team sports in the area community be it playing on local high school teams or club teams in nearby communities. Students have played on football, soccer, hockey, golf, lacrosse, baseball and wrestling teams.
