We took a trip to the Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) in Spokane, Washington, and viewed their exhibit on ancient Egypt. We looked at sacred memorabilia, animal statuettes, and even a real human mummy (named Annie). Going to the MAC and seeing the exhibit was really interesting. It reminded me of my childhood love of ancient mythology and studying science.
After going to the MAC, we had the privilege of going to Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) to see their planetarium and take a tour of the school. We learned about black holes and constellations from an SFCC professor—a really big privilege for a lot of us. Since then, a group of the students have been getting together and looking at the stars before lights out, which has been really cool. Afterward, a student ambassador took us on a tour of the school, and we learned about all the amazing facilities SFCC has to offer. It was really neat!
It was a really great experience to learn and have fun at the same time, and I’m really looking forward to our next field trip.
